Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh.
I can't even... talk. Can't talk. Just... ohmygosh.

So. If you can't tell, I'm impressed. I... guh.
Repo! The Genetic Opera.
A few days ago, I watched it for the first time.
It was like my first time seeing the stage production or Sweeney Todd.
Just... the concept is so over the top. But the characters are so... it's so sad. It's amazing.
Anthony Head needs to stop being an amazing actor... like... now. Or I'll start crying again.

Okay, so I guess I should explain.

My friend kept mentioning Repo to me. I had her over so we could study together, and she brought the DVD up with her. We ended up watching Repo, despite my trepidation after she told me that the only genre she could think to fit it in was SciFi Horror Rock Opera.

IF YOU ARE EASILY FRIGHTENED OR DISTURBED, PLEASE DON'T WATCH.
Proceed like you would if faced with having to watch any other horror movie trailer.
Here's the trailer: [link]

So, if you don't want to watch the trailer, here's the basic plot:
In the fairly near future, an epidemic of organ failures occurs. GeneCo, the company that the plot of Repo revolves around, forms in response to the epidemic to provide people with organ transplants. However, if you miss a payment on the surgery, your organs are repossessed, and GeneCo sends out the Repo-man to kill you and return the organ.

The plot is a lot more complicated than that, and I absolutely love it.

The character Anthony Head plays, Nathan Wallace, is quite possibly the most tragic role I've ever seen in my life and he plays it gorgeously.
And y'all remember that tweeny bopper that played the sister in Spy Kids? Alexa Vega, or something. Well, she's grown up and plays the central character in Repo. Yup. Same girl. I'm having a hard time judging how good her acting is, just because it's so much better than in Spy Kids. It's hard not to compare.
And then there's Paris Hilton. NO. SRSLY. NO JOKE. PARIS HILTON IN A ROCK OPERA. She doesn't sing much, obviously, but she's a surprisingly good actress. And her face falls off near the end, which is fun.

Just thinking of the first time I watched it is making me excited. It's surprisingly good.

Once auditions for choir are over, I'm gonna ask my voice teacher if I can do Chromaggia. It's a song near the end of the musical, sung by Sarah Brightman, who plays 'Blind Mag', my favorite character. So basically it's an amazing performance and the song, translated, sums up the character and her role in the movie. It's beautiful, but high. Worth a try though.

Gahd, but my voice is gone. My school, as well as the two other high schools' choruses and my school's orchestra, performed the Hadyn 'Mass In Tempore Belli' (Mass in time of war). But we practiced for like... 9 hours, total? Plus a 50 minute concert? My voice is so. Completely. Shot. And my audition is next Wednesday. I'm so screwed.

But besides that, good week. Completely taken over by Repo! and my obsession with it. >.<

I'm sorry, I needed to get all that out. I love it. I'm probably gonna get obsessed with it for a few months so much that it's freaky, and love it forever after that but be less freakish about it than I am now.

There will probably be some form of fan art or fan fiction soon.
So bear with me for a while. xD

Love you all! :B

Edit:
LAWLZ FOUND IT ON THE INTERWEBS.
I'm still buying the DVD when I save up enough money, but this'll hold me over 'till then.

Edit2:
Yup. Knew it was coming.
I've written about 8 pages worth of fanfiction for this movie already. >.>;;;

Edit3:
FUCK MY LIFE, GUYS.
Audition fail.
EVERYTHING THAT WENT WRONG DID.
My voice cracked during my audition piece, I FUCKED UP THE SIGHT-READING, TWICE, and I ran out of breath in the quartet.
My choir teacher even said 'Try it again, I know you can sightread' so I was all 'SHIT how bad did I do it the first time?'
It's not a big deal but I'm still freaking out AND MY LEGS STILL FEEL LIKE JELLO AND THAT WAS MY LAST CHANCE AND I'M GONNA CRY WHEN I DON'T GET IN.
Dx

Edit 4:
Loldon'tfeellikemakinganotherjournal.

Didn't make it into the best ensemble. Didn't cry.
Whatevs, treble is sooper fun. ^^

Ummm.
So Visart DIDN'T HAVE REPO.
That is so weird.
Basically, Visart is this great video store. I think it's part of a chain, but eh. The one I go to, at least, is known for it's huge indie selection. Basically, it's the place you go to if a movie isn't mainstream. When you KNOW Blockbuster is not going to have it. And Repo is definitely not mainstream. But Visart DIDN'T HAVE IT and it was so weird.
So I stopped by blockbuster for the heck of it. And guess what?
BLOCKBUSTER HAD IT WTF.
Then again, they do have an extensive horror section.
Weird though.
